Do not use ONEflow in the following cases

Do not use ONEflow in the following cases:

  • With implanted electrical devices (e.g. pacemakers)

  • If there are larger metal implants in the pain area. A copper IUD is not a problem!

  • For people who use insulin pumps

  • With a high fever (e.g. > 38 °C)

  • With known or acute cardiac arrhythmias and other cardiac excitation or conduction disorders

  • With seizure disorders (e.g. epilepsy)

  • During an existing pregnancy

  • With existing cancers

  • After operations where increased muscle contractions could interfere with the healing process

  • Near the heart. Stimulation electrodes must not be applied anywhere on the front of the chest (outlined by the ribs and breastbone), especially not on both pectoral muscles. This can increase the risk of ventricular fibrillation and lead to cardiac arrest.

  • On the bony skull, in the area of the mouth, pharynx or larynx

  • In the area of the neck / carotid artery

  • In the genital area

  • On acutely or chronically diseased skin (injured or inflamed), e.g. in the case of painful or painless inflammation, redness, rashes (e.g. allergies), burns, bruises, swelling, and open wounds as well as wounds that are healing; also on surgical scars that are still healing

Using ONEflow does not replace medical consultation or treatment. For any kind of pain or illness, always consult your doctor first.

What is ONEflow?
ONEflow is an innovative option that can help relieve menstrual discomfort. It’s a portable TENS device developed specifically to ease period pain.
May I use my ONEflow during pregnancy?
No — use of ONEflow during pregnancy is strictly prohibited. If you are pregnant or think you might be, please consult your gynaecologist before using ONEflow.
Are there any side effects when using ONEflow?
The ONEflow TENS device itself has no known typical side effects. Our pads are generally well tolerated and side effects are rare. They are latex-free and suitable for many people with allergies. If you experience skin irritation or similar, please pause use and consult a gynaecologist.
Does ONEflow also help with endometriosis pain?
Definitely! ONEflow is designed to relieve primary menstrual pain (dysmenorrhoea). It can also help reduce secondary menstrual pain caused by conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS, adenomyosis or inflammatory pelvic disease.
Will other people hear it when ONEflow is switched on?
No! The device is completely silent, so no sounds are audible. With the Drop Pads, you can also wear it in a way that no one even sees it.
I have an IUD. Can I use ONEflow?
Yes, you can use our ONEflow TENS device with an IUD. It works with both copper and hormonal IUDs. If you’re unsure, please consult a gynaecologist beforehand.
Is using ONEflow safe?
How to put it best? It almost sounds too good to be true — TENS is a technology that has existed since the 1970s and has been continuously developed, becoming even safer over time. It has been used for many years in physiotherapy and is in some cases even reimbursed by health insurers. Not only clinicians but also professional athletes swear by this technology for muscle pain relief — and Dr Ulrike Lange (co-founder) is also highly convinced of TENS. In addition, our ONEflow is TGA-certified, FDA-approved and CE-marked.
Is ONEflow an effective option for menstrual discomfort?
Yes, absolutely! ONEflow is an effective option for menstrual discomfort. The TENS technology used in ONEflow is a recognised method of pain relief that has been used in physiotherapy for many years for muscle pain.
Is ONEflow suitable for every woman and person who menstruates?
ONEflow is a versatile option against menstrual discomfort and can be used safely by most women and other people who menstruate. If you have existing health conditions or are unsure, we recommend consulting a gynaecologist before first use.
Is ONEflow waterproof (e.g. for showering)?
No, ONEflow is not waterproof. Please ensure the device and pads are dry before and during use. Do not allow your ONEflow to come into contact with water to ensure proper function and avoid damage.
Is ONEflow rechargeable or does it need batteries?
ONEflow is rechargeable — we want it to be your long-term companion. It comes with a USB charging cable so you can easily recharge it whenever needed. You can connect the cable to a laptop or a USB power adapter (output: max. 5 V / 2 A) at a socket. It takes around 40 minutes to fully charge and the battery lasts up to 9 hours (net operating time).
Can it stop the pain completely?
Everyone’s perception and tolerance of pain is different. We therefore can’t say 100% that it will completely stop pain for everyone. BUT it is highly effective in pain management and reduction. In most cases, the relief is so strong that it feels like you’ve hit the “off” switch for your cramps.
Can I wear ONEflow when I’m on the way?
Definitely! The design and shape have been developed so you can wear it anywhere — especially outside your four walls. The Drop Pads are the perfect to-go solution. Just don’t wear it while swimming or showering, and avoid water contact completely.
Can I leave ONEflow on while sleeping?
Many of our customers use ONEflow while they sleep. It is not harmful. However, for safety reasons we advise against it, as it could come loose during sleep and land on areas such as your neck or face.
Can I use ONEflow for other complaints?
ONEflow is specifically designed to relieve period pain — the pads are shaped for your lower abdomen and back. The good news is that TENS devices have been used in physiotherapy for many years to relieve other types of pain — especially muscle-related pain and for muscle relaxation. IMPORTANT: this should always be discussed with a gynaecologist or physician.
Can I wear ONEflow during sport?
Yes, you can wear ONEflow during sport. The device is small and discreet and can be worn under clothing without any problem. It’s designed for an active lifestyle so you can address menstrual pain during training. Just not while swimming!
Can ONEflow be used while charging?
No — for safety reasons, ONEflow cannot be used while charging. Please wait until the device is fully charged before using it.
Do the pads fit every body?
Pain varies and has no “one-size-fits-all” — but ONEflow aims to be just that: suitable for every body. The technology works by stimulating something we all have: dermatomes on our skin. ONEflow’s electrode pads are designed to move comfortably with all bodies and adapt flexibly. Thanks to the different pads, you can freely choose what works best for you. In addition, our pads have the largest possible contact area for maximum relief.

What do the different indicator light colours mean?
During charging, the red indicator light is on. When fully charged, the red light goes out and the blue light stays on. When ONEflow is switched on, the blue light flashes. As you increase the intensity, the blue light flashes faster.
What happens if I’ve misplaced the film for my pads?
It happens — no worries! You can use a piece of cling film or, even better, a clear plastic sleeve/film. The stiffer the film, the better your pads will keep their shape.
What should I do before using my ONEflow?

Prepare your skin before applying:

  • Trim excess hair in the treatment area rather than shaving, to avoid irritation.

  • Wash your skin and dry it thoroughly.

  • Make sure the area is free from lotions/oils.

How do I use my ONEflow?
  • Remove the protective liners from the pads (IMPORTANT: keep the liners for reuse; ideally store them in your FREE menstruflow case).Stick ONEflow on your lower abdomen (and/or lower back).

  • Choose between using the large Flow Pad plus the two small Drop Pads, only the small Drop Pads, or only the Flow Pad.

  • Press the ON/OFF button briefly on ONEflow. By default, ONEflow starts in Mode 1 with the lowest intensity. The blue light shows that ONEflow is on.

  • Press the ON/OFF briefly to switch modes. You’ll find the TENS modes in our enclosed manual.

  • Press “+” or “–” to adjust intensity.

  • To switch ONEflow off, hold the ON/OFF for 3 seconds. The LED goes out.

  • After use, take care when removing it from your lower abdomen. Reattach the protective liners to the gel pads to protect them and store them in your menstruflow case.

What’s the best way to store my ONEflow?
To get the longest life from your ONEflow, keep it away from water during storage. Use the enclosed menstruflow case, which you can close airtight.
What’s the best way to store my pads?
After each use, place your pads back onto the supplied liners. Please take care not to lose them and protect the adhesive surfaces from dust. Again — best kept in our FREE menstruflow case.
How do I attach the device to the pads?

Before you continue, make sure ONEflow is switched off. The large Flow Pad has two press studs in the middle where the device is fastened. At the bottom of the device is the port for the connection cable for the small Drop Pads. You can connect this as well and attach the two small Drop Pads at the other end via the press studs.

TIP: You can attach the TENS device directly to the centre of the Flow Pad, or use the electrode cable for an on-the-go setup. That way you can clip the device to your waistband with the included clip while the pad sits discreetly on your lower abdomen.

How do I switch between the 6 modes?
Once ONEflow is attached and switched on, it starts the therapy in Mode 0. Press the ON/OFF button briefly to change modes — or use the app. Try them out to find what suits you best. Our co-founder Polina, for example, prefers Mode 3 or 6.
Where’s the best place to apply the pads?
Place the electrodes where you feel pain. Adjust treatments and placement based on your comfort. Our customers report they mostly wear them very low on the lower abdomen or on the lower back. You can use just the large Flow Pad, just the Drop Pads (great for on the go), or all together.
How long do the pads last?
Our pads last for around 30 uses. One use means: apply once and remove once.
If your cycle is about 28 days and you have pain on 2 days, you’ll typically need only 2–4 pads per year*.
